"Village Idiot"

A local play, written by Micheal Pendergast, Marggie Carmicheal and Joe MacDonald will have you rolling on the floor in the month of July. Every Village has one and St. Peter's Bay is no exception. Local comedy at it's best.

Cape Breton native Jon Matthews is one of PEI's busiest performers, delighting audiences across Canada and the US with his original and traditional songs and a humorous, easygoing personality. Jon often shares the stage with the Island's most talented singers, songwriters and fiddlers, and this summer, you can catch many of them with Jon for a special series of Sunday nights at the Courthouse. Guests have included acclaimed fiddlers Cynthia MacLeod and Sheila Fitzpatrick, and Eddy Quinn, and 2009 Music PEI roots/traditional solo artist of the year Colette Cheverie. A different show each week - catch them all!

Teresa Doyle has attracted listeners at countless festivals and concert venues including: The Mariposa, Winnipeg and Vancouver Folk Festivals, the Montreal Jazz Festival, the 92nd Street ‘Y’ in Manhattan, England’s Salisbury Art Centre, Sound Symposium, The St. John’s Jazz festival, Canadian Jazz and World Showcases and the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo. She gives voice workshops in Canada, Mexico, the U.S. and Ireland.

The Frank Ledwell Storytelling and Comedy Festival


Patrick Ledwell will open our first annual Storytelling and Comedy Festival as a tribute to his father Frank Ledwell. Each night for three days we will share local stories by local PEI comedians, poets, and musicains.

Emma is a sixteen years old singer/songwriter/guitar player from Morell, Prince Edward Island. Her new CD is called "This Moment with You" including all original songs written by herself and accompanied by Todd Maclean and Gordon Belsher. Come out and catch this rising star.

Ward MacDonald

Ward MacDonald is one of the most accomplished and well-rounded young fiddlers on Prince Edward Island. With the fiddling gene present on both sides of his family, Ward’s musical roots run back four generations, including his father, both grandfathers, and his great grandfather. Ward has played concerts, festivals, and square dances across the Maritimes and other parts of including Ontario, Quebec, and the Yukon. He's also taught and performed at music and fiddle camps in the United States.

Colette Cheverie

Colette Cheverie is a native of East Point, Prince Edward Island and has established herself as one of PEI’s finest young singers. Her debut album Hours Before Dawn, was the recipient of the 2009 Music PEI Award for Roots/Traditional Solo Recording of the Year and earned her a 2009 East Coast Music Award (ECMA) Nomination. At the 2009 East Coast Music Awards, Colette was featured on two official ECMA showcase stages including the CBC Galaxie Rising Star Stage and ECMA Discovery Stage. Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

Jason MacDonald, is an entertainer with a passion for writing songs. From the moment he started strumming his guitar he was compelled to create music. Surrounded by Cape Breton Island’s culture and breathtaking scenery, Jason has created acoustic driven songs that speak to the hearts of his listeners.
